England-ALSHARQIYA November 30: Wolverhampton Wanderers said on Monday that striker Raul Jimenez had had a head surgery after suffering a fractured skull during a head collision with Arsenal defender David Luiz, in the two teams' Premier League match.
The Mexican striker needed oxygen on the field, before leaving the stadium on a stretcher, and was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent x-rays.
Wolverhampton Club, known by the acronym as "Wolves", said in a statement: "Raul is in a comfortable position after the operation he underwent last night in a London hospital."
The statement added, "Then he met his partner Daniela and is currently resting. He will remain under observation for a few days while his recovery continues."
He continued, "The club would like to thank the medical team at Arsenal, the National Health Service staff, the hospital staff and the surgeons who provided great assistance with their skills and speed of response."
Jimenez, 29, scored 17 goals for Wolverhampton last season, when he finished seventh among the Premier League teams.
