US evacuates nearly 500 Afghans from Uzbekistan

Washington-ALSHARQIYA  September 15: The United States announced the evacuation of about 500 Afghan soldiers and civilians from Uzbekistan, after they arrived from Kabul airport in the previous days.
A spokesman for the US embassy in Tashkent said that the United States, with the help of the Uzbek government, evacuated 494 Afghans, including military and civilians, from Tarmiz airport. For his part, a spokesperson for the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said that all Afghan refugees left the territory of Uzbekistan, without specifying their number.
