Tunisian president sacks national television director

Tunis-ALSharqiya July 29: Tunisian President Kais Saied dismissed the Director General of the National Television Corporation in Tunisia

The Tunisian presidency said in a statement that Saied issued a presidential order relieving Mohamed Al-Dahesh of his duties as chief director general of Tunisian TV and assigning Awatef Al-Dali to run the Tunisian TV Corporation temporarily.

The decision comes hours after the deputy head of the National Syndicate of Journalists, Amira Muhammad, announced that a guard prevented her from entering the television building to participate in a talk show.

Tunisian President Kais Saied offered a penal settlement in exchange for returning the looted funds to the state treasury.
