Trump tells the Iraqi president the need to confront Iran's actions

NEW YORK (alsharqiya) - US President Donald Trump and Iraqi President Barham Salih discussed strengthening their partnership in security, trade and energy at their meeting in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the White House said on Thursday. In a statement, the US president affirmed his support for the war against ISIS and all terrorist groups and stressed the need to protect minorities in Iraq, confront Iran's activities and influence, and abide by Iraqi democracy and the rule of law. The statement pointed out that the two presidents recognized the need for Baghdad to do everything in its power to maintain a favorable market for US investors and energy companies seeking to do business in Iraq / which will increase Iraq's economic prosperity and independence in the field of energy.
