Salah al-Din -ALSHARQIYA November 30: The Iraqi authorities stopped oil refining operations in the Chinese refinery, which has a refining capacity of 30 thousand barrels per day, as a precaution after a missile attack targeting the refinery Sunday night
Reuters quoted Iraqi officials as saying that a missile hit the refinery and led to a fire in a fuel storage tank, forcing officials to stop operations completely after the fire spread to a network close to pipelines.
Surveillance cameras showed the moment the missile fell on the Chinese refinery in Baiji, which led to the refinery being out of service and stopping production.
A spokesman for the North Refineries Company said that the entire production units were shut down to avoid serious damage that might result from the fire left by the missile.
