Postponing the General Conference of the National Council of Iraqi Tribes

Baghdad-ALSHARQIYA   May  14 : The National Council of Tribes and Clans of Iraq decided to postpone its first general conference in order to preserve its independence with the approaching date of parliamentary elections in the country
 Council Chairman Sheikh Naim Al-Suhail said in a statement that the postponement of the general conference comes to exclude the National Council of Tribes and Clans of Iraq from political competition and to ensure that it remains a council for all Iraqis without sectarian, national or ethnic discrimination.
 The statement confirmed the continuation of the organizational and coordination council meetings between tribal and clan leaders.
