Parliamentary human rights calls for resolving the cases of convicts and addressing overcrowding in prisons

Baghdad-ALSHARQIYA   January 13: The Parliamentary Human Rights Committee called for resolving cases of convicts with the judiciary to address the problem of overcrowding in prisons
This came during a meeting of the committee with directors of correctional and prisons departments for men and women in Baghdad in the presence of its head, MP Arshad Al-Salhi, and the members, to find out about the problems that you are suffering from and find solutions to them
Al-Salhi stressed the need to pay attention to the reality of prisons in Iraq, especially that the state has obligations to international agreements regarding the application of human rights principles in prisons, and he also called for the need to adhere to legislation that preserves human rights without compromising his dignity or torturing him.
