Paris returns to fashion shows despite Covid-19

Paris-ALsharqiya September 27: Big fashion houses such as Dior, Chanel and Vuitton return to presentations during Paris Fashion Week, which begins Monday in the midst of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, although most brands have chosen to present their collections via the Internet.

After men's fashion and haute couture, which were conducted entirely online during the summer for the first time in its history, the Women's Ready-to-Wear Week from September 28 to October 6 will witness a mixture of shows, both in-attendance and online. But they are all out of the ordinary.

During the closure, Yves Saint Laurent decided to abandon Fashion Weeks, announcing that it would follow its own dates. Also absent from this season are the House of Celine and its artistic director, Hady Soliman, and the American brand of white, Virgil Ablo, which is popular with the millennial generation. However, ten designers entered the official calendar, which includes 84 houses.

Designers are adapting to the health situation and trying to make their mark on new styles of fashion show during the pandemic. The shows are held with the wearing of masks and a small number of guests, with the development of health instructions being followed.

"This collection is a mirror of the last five months," young French designer Marnie Sear told AFP. I always work like this, but it is the world around us that has changed radically.
