NATO Secretary General calls for negotiation of 'settlement' on Afghanistan

Afghanistan-ALSHARQIYA July 27: NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed the need to negotiate a "settlement" with the Taliban in Afghanistan, and acknowledged that the country is facing a "very difficult" security situation with the withdrawal of foreign forces.

 After speaking to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Stoltenberg said on Twitter that the security situation in Afghanistan is very difficult and requires a negotiated settlement.

 Noting that NATO supports Afghanistan, including through funding, civilian presence and training outside the country
