Baghdad-ALSHARQIYA April 7: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, confirmed that the great development in the capabilities of the Iraqi forces had paved the way for the departure of about 60% of the coalition forces during the past months of the life of this government.
Al-Kazemi said during his presidency of a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security that the development of the performance of the Iraqi forces will enable Iraq to move soon to the stage of eliminating the need for foreign combat units and limiting it to training and advisory roles, logistical support and intelligence cooperation, until Iraq reaches the stage of self-sufficiency with the efforts of its sons and their cooperation and solidarity.
Al-Kazemi stressed that his government has a basic task of protecting and fortifying the state, through strengthening and rebuilding constitutional institutions, foremost among which is the Iraqi army and the rest of the security services.
