Iraqi Prime Minister directs the release of staff salaries

Baghdad-ALSharqiya June 28: Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed the Ministry of Finance to expedite the release of employee salaries. A statement by the Prime Minister stated that Al-Kazemi held a meeting with Finance Minister Abdul Amir Allawi, during which he stressed the release of salaries without delay and work with all capabilities and energies to put the solutions that were discussed. Al-Kazemi emphasized that the government apparatus is continuing to maximize non-oil revenues and find financial cover for employee salaries, and said that the current financial crisis constitutes an opportunity to meet the challenge of implementing financial and administrative reform, and that the government has resolved to proceed with reform until it is reflected positively on economic development
