Iran begins to develop a joint oil field with Iraq

Tehran, ALSharqiya, July 11: Iran announced on Saturday that it has begun signing a contract to develop a joint oil field with Iraq.

Iranian media have confirmed that the Iranian oil company has entered into an agreement with the company, Brescia, to develop the oil and gas industry to develop the Yaran field located in the southwest of the country and joint with the Majnoon field in Iraq over 10 years, with direct and indirect investments of $ 294 million and the cost of building facilities at $ 236 million.

 The agreement includes drilling 6 new wells in addition to a specific well and another for water injection, maintenance of 5 wells and equipping 27 wells with internal pumps as well as the establishment and modernization of ground installations and the conduct of laboratory studies and the design of a mechanism to increase production.
