Hassan Al-Janabi: The dam site threatens important archaeological sites

Baghdad-ALSHARQIYA June 14: The former Iraqi Minister of Water Resources, Hassan Al-Janabi, said that there are more water priorities in Iraq than building the Makhoul Dam, which he said is a geologically invalid project in addition to its negative effects on the population and the spread around its proposed site.

Al-Janabi confirmed to Al-Sharqiya News that Iraq should follow strategies commensurate with its declining water revenues by rehabilitating existing facilities to raise the efficiency of water use.
