Baghdad-ALSHARQIYA August 2 : Legal expert Tareq Harb counted that the joint authority of the prime ministers and the republic to dissolve the Iraqi parliament is not dependent on the parliament’s vote, and does not stop at it.
Harb said in clarification of Article 64 of the Iraqi constitution that this article provides that the House of Representatives be dissolved by an absolute majority of its members at the request of one third of them or at the request of the Prime Minister and with the approval of the President of the Republic, and not with the consent of Parliament.
Harb added that the Iraqi constitution set two ways to dissolve the first parliament, and it would be by voting, then the solution or an executive path at the request of the Prime Minister and the approval of the President of the Republic.
