Guterres : the world is facing a catastrophe due to the closure of schools

New York-ALsharqiya  August 4: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the world is facing a generational catastrophe due to the closure of schools amid the outbreak of the emerging Corona Virus pandemic and said that the safe return of students to their schools should be a top priority.

Guterres added that schools were closed in about 160 countries as of mid-July, affecting more than a billion students, while 40 million children are leaving nurseries.

  This added, in addition to 250 million children, outside the education system by the pandemic.
