A warning about the risk of passing the current draft of the cybercrime bill

Baghdad-ALsharqiya, November 21: Activists, bloggers and legal experts warned of the danger of passing the current draft of the Information Crimes Bill, as it contains provisions that limit public freedoms and freedom of expression.

The Article 38 coalition said today, Saturday, in conjunction with the Iraqi parliament session, that some political blocs are trying to pass the notorious information crime law and said in a statement that it is surprising to insist on re-listing the same draft that had been previously rejected more than once in two previous parliamentary sessions.

The Article 38 Coalition stressed its strong refusal to circumvent the freedom of expression guaranteed by the constitution and the promise of the draft for reading is an attempt to return Iraq to the era of dictatorship and the informant.
